Mundan Sanskar is one of the important 16 Hindu Sanskars (Shodasha Samskaras) performed for a child. Also known as Chudakarana Sanskar, it involves the first-time shaving of a child’s head, usually during infancy or early childhood. This ritual symbolizes purification of past karma, good health, long life, and spiritual awakening.

• Done on Nakshatras like Ashwini, Rohini, Mrigashira, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra
